    1. Be available to answer questions.

The movers are going to have questions about where things go. Make sure you are available to answer their questions so the move can go smoothly.

    2. Help with packing.

If there are items that you want to pack yourself, be sure to do so before the movers arrive. In doing so, the process will speed up. You’ll also want to ensure that all items are correctly labelled so that the movers know where they go.

    3. Prepare snacks and drinks.

Moving is hard work! Especially on hot days. You can help out and lift the movers spirit by offering water or soft drinks. This will do. If you want to go the extra mile, you can buy them sandwiches.

    4. Be flexible

On moving day, something will unavoidably go wrong. You have to be as flexible as possible so that you can handle any problems that may arise.

    5. Inspect each item before it is loaded onto the lorry

As the movers are loading your belongings onto the lorry, take a quick look at each item to make sure it is appropriately packed. This will help to prevent any damage during the move.

    6. Stay out of the way.

Once the movers are started, it’s best to stay out of their way. They know what they’re doing, and you don’t want to get in their way.

    7. Inspect each item after it is unloaded from the lorry.

Once all your belongings have been unloaded from the lorry, take a quick look at each item to ensure that nothing was damaged during the move.

    8. Make sure all items are in the correct rooms.

During the move, communicate with the team leader where you would like your bulky items to go. If it meant to go in a different room that it was your old house. Typically movers will put them in the same rooms.

    9. Be prepared for the bill.

Make sure you have a payment method ready when the movers are finished. They will usually give you an estimate beforehand, but it’s always good to be prepared.

    10. Tip the movers

If you’re happy with the movers’ job, be sure to tip them. This is a good way to show your appreciation for their hard work.
